Platelets Across America

Platelets donors are a very dedicated type of blood donor but Al Whitney, a 75 year old Ohio man, took it one step further.  You might ask how can you be more dedicated than donating every 2 weeks for 2 hours?

Al has donated platelets in all 50 states, starting his journey in Erie PA 2007.  August 11, 2012 Al completed his mission with a donation at United Blood Services in Casper, Wyoming.   A very humble donor, Al finally admitted it was a milestone but he plans on continuing platelet donation.

A very inspiring story from a donor who has given so much of himself for the betterment of many communities!
